Leveling the Playing Field collects and redistributes new and gently used sports equipment to children and community organizations that lack the resources to purchase it. By removing financial barriers, the organization helps more young people participate in athletics, stay active, and experience the benefits of teamwork and healthy competition.
In addition to providing equipment, the organization partners with schools, recreation programs, and nonprofits throughout the Baltimore area to ensure that every child has the opportunity to play. Their work promotes physical activity, confidence, and inclusion while reducing waste by giving quality sports equipment a second life.
Moveable Feast prepares and delivers medically tailored meals and nutrition services to individuals living with serious illnesses across Maryland. Their mission is to improve health outcomes by ensuring clients have access to nutritious meals that support their medical needs.
Beyond meal delivery, the organization provides nutrition counseling and education, helping clients and their families better manage their health. Their services allow many individuals to remain safely in their homes while receiving the nutritional support they need during treatment and recovery.
Charities MUST be a 501(c)(3) non-profit OR an organization that is able to collect tax-deductible donations to participate. Winning charities will also be required to sign a photo release form. When thinking about nominations, we encourage you to consider the following factors:
