Saint Luke’s Youth Center is a West Baltimore nonprofit that works with local families to give young people access to educational support, enrichment opportunities, mentoring, and a strong community network. Its programs are free to participating families and are designed around long-term relationships between youth, parents, teachers, neighbors, and volunteers. Rather than focusing on a single short-term need, SLYC helps create a broader support system around children as they grow.
Clay Pots is a nonprofit community center located in West Baltimore. It provides a welcoming place where neighborhood residents can access education, support and opportunities to connect with others. Its programs include GED education, health and wellness resources, skill-building activities and community events, with programs offered free or at low cost. Rather than addressing just one issue, Clay Pots focuses on strengthening the neighborhood itself. It gives residents a place to learn new skills, find resources, build relationships and work toward greater stability.
Charities MUST be a 501(c)(3) non-profit OR an organization that is able to collect tax-deductible donations to participate. Winning charities will also be required to sign a photo release form. When thinking about nominations, we encourage you to consider the following factors:
