Youth Empowered Society (YES) is a Baltimore-based nonprofit committed to ending youth homelessness through direct services, advocacy, and peer-led engagement. Founded by formerly homeless youth, YES provides a drop-in center where young people ages 14–25 can safely access meals, showers, clothing, and critical support without judgment. The organization’s peer-driven model ensures that services are youth-centered, inclusive, and responsive to real-life needs.
YES doesn’t just offer emergency aid—it helps young people build long-term stability through case management, housing navigation, employment support, and education assistance. The drop-in center also functions as a hub for community and empowerment, where young people are respected as leaders in their own lives and supported by a team that believes in their potential.
By blending trauma-informed care with grassroots advocacy, YES plays a vital role in giving Baltimore’s unhoused youth a voice, a community, and a chance to thrive.
Empower4Life is a nonprofit organization that supports homeless and housing-insecure children in Baltimore and Harford Counties. Its mission is to improve the emotional, physical, and educational well-being of youth through wellness education, food assistance, and life-skill development. They work primarily through partnerships with homeless shelters, providing on-site services tailored to the needs of children living in transitional environments.
Empower4Life’s programs focus on nutrition education, social-emotional learning, and academic support. They regularly deliver healthy meals, school supplies, hygiene kits, and “lessons for life” designed to help children feel safe, confident, and cared for. Their holistic model addresses both the immediate and long-term challenges that homeless youth face, ensuring they are not left behind academically or emotionally.
With a strong community presence and a practical, child-centered approach, Empower4Life gives young people the tools to grow, learn, and build brighter futures despite difficult circumstances.
